GROUP PROJECT EXPERIENCES
Recently, i did a group project with some of my classmates for spanish class. the assignment was to create a dialogue with your group, and present it in front of the whole class. Personally, i'm not a fan of group projects and partner projects. I prefer to work alone because i actually like projects. So if i'm working with someone, i have to make sure that the person i'm working with is also working and will cooperate with me.
So i was put into a group with 3 other people with me. It was me, Z, F, and B (Sorry for the initials). I know them well since they are my friends and classmates. And by 'well', i meant how 2 of them doesn't work in projects. I was disappointed with the group arrangements but i somehow have to deal with it because i cant really do anything about it.
I actually enjoyed doing the dialogue project with my group mates, it was a lot of fun even though we had troubles on the way, too. I enjoyed making the menus, creating the dialogue with my group, deciding who is going to be who, and other things that we do as a group. Z, our leader, helped us a lot with our project and I think that was one of the best things about this group. I think she deserves to be called our ‘Group leader’. My other group mates, F and B, also helped us. Not as much as zhailing, but they helped us. They were distracted easily by a lot of things, but me and Z managed to control them.
Even though our group got a pretty good result, I am slightly disappointed by it because I know that our group could’ve done a better job in this project. I know that our group could’ve written better dialogue, do a better presentation, and show more of our team work. It was a disappointment that our leader, Z, was absent on the day of the presentation, but we still managed to finish the presentation with the help of one of my friend (as a replacement for Z) But, now that we know our mistakes, I’m sure that our group will do a better job for the next group project.
I learned so much from this group project. I learned how to write dialogues, present in front of the class, and helping each other. But most importantly, I, no, we all learned that working in a group is not as easy as we thought it would be. But we’ll do a better job and get a better grade next time. So overall, i think this whole group project was a good lesson for me.
